Las Vegas Con Artist Alert: "Ken Brown" aka "Kenneth DeButts" or "Ken Brown DeButts" Kenneth Brown, who also goes by Ken Brown DeButts or Kenneth DeButts, has criminal complaints filed against him with Las Vegas law enforcement: - identity theft for using the social security number and name of another person without her authorization or foreknowledge, to sign up for two TMobile cell phone accounts - theft of cash from his former employer - embezzlement from his former employer - unauthorized charges made on the credit card account of the woman from whom he had rented a room - unauthorized long distance calls on the same woman's phone bill, though his doing so was explicitly prohibited by the written terms (which he had signed) for renting the room in her residence WORTH NOTING: Hangs out in gay bars He never fully paid the $500 rent and $250 move-in deposit which he had agreed (in writing) to pay by March1, 2005. The webmaster of this site personally evicted him from that residence on March 22, 2005. He made his first payment towards rent and deposit by handing the woman a $100 bill, in the presence of the webmaster of this site, stating that he had taken $150 from the cash register drawer of his then-employer. He further stated that his then-employer saw him taking it, and that he told his then-employer that he was taking it due to his then-employer not giving him his paycheck. That $100 bill disappeared the same evening from the box into which the woman had put it (in Ken Brown's presence), and still has not been found. He offered a paycheck from his new job as partial payment of rent due; the paycheck was in the name "Kenneth deButts". He had signed the room rental agreement as "Ken Brown". AMONG HIS CLAIMS: - that he has AIDS - that his former employer fired him when informed that he has AIDS - that his father would succeed Hinckley as head of the Mormon Church (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints); then stated later that his father was dead; then stated later that it was his grandfather who would succeed Hinckley, not his father - that he is an Iraq War veteran - that he was discharged from the Navy; he carries what seems to be a Navy identification card, under the name "Kenneth Brown" - that he is a Mormon; he attempted to obtain $500 from the bishop of the temple serving his former residence's area of Las Vegas, falsely presenting himself as the brother of the woman from whom he was renting his room - stated to the webmaster of this site that he did not have a driver's license since he "had to turn it in" - stated on an apartment lease application that he had a valid driver's license issued by the state of New Hampshire - stated on an apartment lease application that his former residence was at his mother's residence in New Hampshire - a Google search for "Kenneth deButts" finds an online personal for userID "kennyboi", member of the service via which he posted since September 7, 2004, stating that his location was Salt Lake City, Utah; see: http://universist.meetup.com/131/members/?memberId=1761170 - a Google search for "kennyboi" finds blog posts that include the name "Kenny Brown"
